Indeed, middlecoin is coping harder and harder with it's popularity, but luckily, there are a few other multipools that employ switching algos for mining scrypt, some with lower than 3% fees, all of them paying daily...
I am using another mining strategy: rotate mining pools every 30 or 60 minutes between a few multipools that are able to mine directly to a BTC address.
This way the mining farm's operator can use the same address already disclosed to shareholders and the payments will be more fluent, in smaller chunks but from a few different sources, because the payments will not be hindered in the event of a mishap with the only mining pool that's being used.
There have been a few cases when multipools get stuck mining some coins and cannot dump them on any market without drastically affecting the exchange rate, so they choose to hold them for a few days even...
The rotate pool strategy feature is implemented in cgminer and rarely used by miners.
I'm using it.
I'm getting results.
I'm recommending it.
This way I average more than mining LTC directly and I'm distributing the risk of mining a whole day on a pool that gets inferior results.
Maybe we should try it here, too.
For reference some statistics are available here
poolpicker.eu/text.phpAt least 4 of those pools can fund directly a BTC address.
The others can be configured to autopay to the same address.
This way I'm able to forget about looking daily to switch to the most profitable multipool and I have no one to blame when the choice I've made a day before proves to be a less inspired one, because rarely you'll find a pool to get the best results a few days in a row, especially in nowadays markets.
